He didn't interpret them any differently than the old OTO readings: King is airy -- logic and decisions, Queen is watery -- emotions and values, Prince/Knight is firey -- ambition and action, Princess/Knave is earthy -- possessions and belonging.
Thanks, Duck. I have seen interpretations along these lines but didn't know where they originated.

Help me interpret my last reading (Please?):

The question: How will my financial situation change in the near future?
The layout: Seven card spread
The deck: Rider-Waite

First Card (the Past): Eight of Wands
Second Card (the Present): The World
Third Card (the Future/Hidden powers): Ace of Pentacles
Fourth Card (the Wish/the Answer): Knight of Wands
Fifth Card (Help/Hindrance from others): Eight of Pentacles
Sixth Card (Hopes/Fears; Sudden events): Judgment
Seventh Card (The Result): Seven of Swords

EDIT: I'm a bit lost with this reading it's neither positive nor negative. And I hate the Seven of Swords at the end.

Arag, are there any reversed? Do you take that into account when you do them?

P.S. Yeah, 7S is not a particularly pleasant card here. With a more positive spin it could just signify "lone wolf" type stuff... keeping to yourself, for example.

Just curious: Are you actively interviewing for jobs or something? If so, it might not be particularly good or bad, but just simply getting a job that is "just a job" for you.... at least for now.

I'll send a PM on this.

No my cards are never reversed (I keep them so).

And yeah, I wanted to look for some jobs this month.

PS: On an unrelated note, a friend's father is slowly dying of cancer. I feel like shit, because the only thing I can do is to pray for a painless death for him.

I'm very sorry to hear that.

Thanks. The thing is, he needs to make peace with the fact that his father is going to die within the next few months. It's heart-wrenching because the whole cultural fear of death shows right now. I try not to interfere because my views on this issue are so alien to his way of thinking as they can be.

Arag-

The seven of swords is also one that I hate seeing. This looks like the main hindrance to your plans working smoothly. It looks like you have a few positive influences here. One that strikes me is the Knight of Wands. I see it as moving forward with an good idea, or even someone who will help you move forward with the idea. Other cards indicate you have the skill to do this, too.

The final card though, while it can have to do with your friends father, I wonder how this will affect your seach for work or financial improvement. Maybe you will end up having to put things off or be distracted from the subject of finances, or alternatively, the card also could mean that your plans could be undone by your own reactions. When the card comes up for me, I always ask " what are you trying to get away with?"

It looks good in general, just be forewarned about meeting some hindrance at a certain point. I suspect you will know it when you see it coming.

That is a very hard thing to watch someone go through without being able to help, other than just being there for them. Still, being there for them can really mean a lot.

In general I get: Huge effort, no easy way out.

The eight of pentacles in the fifth position is interesting. My gut says the central issue is that you can't do more because you're already overcommitted. The eight of wands and knight of wands say you've been pushing hard for a while . . . .

The seven of swords usually means that you're going to have to make a hard choice -- let something go, probably.

Does any of that fit?
